The Colourpoint Cat Club was formed in 1977 and became
affiliated to the GCCF, the Governing Council
of the Cat Fancy, in 1982.
We held our first Exemption Show in 1983 and
progressed to a Championship Breed Show in 1988. In 2009, we celebrated
our "Coming of Age" show with our 21st Championship Show. The Show is held
annually in January at the Stoneleigh Exhibition Centre, Stoneleigh,
Warwickshire and is open to Colourpoint Persians, Colourpointed Exotics and
both non-pedigree and pedigree Household Pets.
Our committee meets at least 3 times a year
and we hold an Annual General Meeting between March and April for
our members to attend. Members, of 6 months or longer, are very welcome to apply to become a
Committee
Member by writing to the Honorary Secretary. Any application must also be
proposed and seconded by a committee member so please feel free to contact any
of the committee with regards to your application.
We also send delegates to the Colourpoint
LH Breed Advisory Committee to represent the Club and you, its members,
on issues that are brought to the attention of the BAC with regards to Colourpoints. These can
include matters
about the Colourpoint LH Registration Policy and Standard of Points. The BAC also
reviews the training of Probationer Judges of Colourpoints and applicants on the
Colourpoint Stewarding scheme.
We have a large membership, which covers
the whole of the United Kingdom, and consists of breeders,
exhibitors, judges and pet owners all of who have an interest, not just in Colourpoints, but cats in
general.
WE ALWAYS WELCOME NEW MEMBERS.
